From October 23 to 25, 2026, the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan hosted the ninth edition of Focus Live, a festival organized by *Focus* (Mondadori Group) dedicated to science, curiosity, and the major questions of our time. This year’s theme was "Intelligences" (in the plural): an invitation to explore the many ways in which the mind, behavior, technology, and nature generate solutions, learn, communicate, and adapt.
Our department participated with a stand titled "The Voice of Ecosystems." Visitors were taken on an immersive journey into the world of sound - viewed as a tool for interpreting and understanding the environment - by exploring terrestrial and marine soundscapes, ranging from cities and forests to aquatic ecosystems.
Through environmental recordings, listening experiences, and innovative technologies, the public discovered how sounds -produced by animals, human activities, and the interactions between them - reveal the health status of ecosystems and the richness of biodiversity.
