Master's Degree Course

The Master's Degree in Chemical Sciences and Technologies is a two-year program.

It includes 11 exams and an 8-month thesis to be carried out in university laboratories or companies, in Italy or abroad.

The Degree Course, accredited **Chemistry Euromaster®**, is taught in Italian and has open access: a Bachelor's Degree and passing an interview to verify basic chemical knowledge are required.

There are five common courses and, subsequently, five thematic paths: **Biomolecular Chemistry**; **Formulation Chemistry**; **Materials Chemistry**; **Sustainable Chemistry**; **Chemical Methodologies**.

Acquired Skills

The Master's Degree ensures that graduates have a high command of **scientific methods and content in the chemical field**, with particular regard to the innovative aspects of modern chemistry, within the renewed framework of the production world particularly attentive to the fine chemistry and specialty sector and, more generally, to the demand for new processes and products in the horizon of economic, environmental and social sustainability of development.

The acquired skills will allow you to: **apply**, even in interdisciplinary contexts, **the most modern knowledge**; **design and implement scientific and technological development activities**, based on the state of the art of knowledge and also through the use of complex instrumentation; **identify**, in the work context, relevant issues, objectives of interest and the most suitable **intervention methodologies**.

Career Opportunities

Master's graduates can find employment in:

  • **Small, medium and large companies** operating in various sectors *(chemistry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, textile/apparel, food, building products, home and personal care, or automotive industry)*.
  • **Public bodies** *(Schools, Universities, CNR, ASL, Environmental Agencies, etc.)*, and in **services**, covering duties, both as employees and as freelancers, in the areas of: **research and development**, **production**, **analysis** *(quality, control, characterization)*, **consultancy**, **sales**, **marketing** and **technical assistance**.

What our students say

I am very satisfied with how the University has organized the study plan, with particular reference to its interdisciplinarity.

The course is in fact delocalized in different departments, giving the student the opportunity to learn 360 degrees the concepts related to the different areas of chemistry.

During the last year of studies, it is also possible to gain direct experience through internship activities, which offer the possibility of carrying out research activities based on one's interests, ranging from organic synthesis to the application of theoretical models for solving chemical problems.

(Edoardo, Chemical Sciences and Technologies graduate student. 2020/2021)
